SATURDAY 12th SEPTEMBER - 6.00 P.M. UNTIL MIDNIGHT.
Agiotfest 2009 has as its main headline act former and present members of Jethro Tull, Fairport Convention, Little Johnny England and the Steve Gibbons Band. They will play under the name 'The Dylan Project'. As the name implies, they perform Bob Dylan numbers, but not only.....there will be lots of renditions of Jethro Tull and Fairport, as well as new compositions.
Ritchie Henderson from Scotland, singer-guitarist, performs with Sheila McWhirter under the title East of Memphis; powerful acoustics and voices are their trade. The Good Old Boys are well-known and loved around the island and are introducing 19-year-old Jemma Bartlett; it is the organisers wish to give new talent its chance alongside the professionals. From the north of the island come rockers the Omega 5 Band, with outstanding lead guitarist Paul Stenton.....not forgetting of course Lionel Mann and Ria Geogiadis with their classical recital which kicks off the week's event on Monday the 7th.
