I'm deeply disturbed by the number of stray cats and dogs, others living in shamefull conditions, and all types of animal abuse and neglect. We have too few shelters, here in Corfu, and all unable to accommodate more animals. I would love to organize some type of fundraising event to benefit these shelters. Not only could we raise money to help them out, but by taking advantage of the tourist season, we could help find homes for many homeless cats and dogs. Would anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone done anything like this? What type of permission do we need from local authorities, depending on the event in question? Being quite handy with an apron and a wooden spoon, I was thinking of something like a bake sale, somewhere near a neach, where we could reach many tourists.
